The Story
The short film is titled "The Light". Its a horror / drama. The plot is as follows: A young couple are on a house hunting appointment with a real estate agent when their daughter disappears. The subsequent search for her turns out to more much more than a physical exercise.
Details
The film is being shot on a Canon XL2 with a 35mm adapter (www.redrockmicro). We are in pre production right now and scheduled to start shooting in June (2nd week).
The Need
Anyone willing to offer their expertise on
a.) doing few CGI visual effects on certain key scenes
b.) tips on how to shoot a film that will have CGI effects. How much is lighting effected? Since we are using regular 35mm lenses on the XL2 -- how should be prepare of a CGI shoot with these lenses.
We are not really shooting any CGI monsters or anything. The film is rather subtle and moody and the CGI is only to enhance certain aspects we had in mind. We really are getting so nervous trying to figure out how to shoot a movie with some CGI work to be done. We are being sure not to use CGI just because we can... we really want the audience to understand the space in which the characters in the movie inhibit, and certain aspects of the characters themselves. I really hope this may be a challenging (at least different) experience for some members here.
