View Full Version : Radiosity fly-through
minus 03-10-2002, 01:18 PM I've just created a small 5 second fly-through of a plant-like structure... (ish). Mainly as a test of the DOF and radiosity in Lightwave.
Can download direct here:

Another Animation... and some pics can be seen at my site here:

looks nice.. you might want to focus something different in the mittle of the anim so that the dof gets more underlined....

I guess its neat. You should've atleast had the tentacles moving or something. I know that bad boy took like 2-3 days to render. I know GI and Im damn familiar with DOF. Those 2 are like Fire and Ice....No MIxXY :) Next time do a little more before you have to go a couple days with out touching your computer even if it is just a test. I do the same thing with my test renders but I like to add a little more to them...just for grits and giggles :)
On a side note, the DOF looks damn good :)

Well... truth be told... It's my second animation ever. :) --- Haven't gotten into IK yet so I wouldn't know how to rig the tentacles. -- I have however done hundreds of renderings. I've never been drawn to animation much untill recently. -- At it's peak when the camera was in close it was taking as long as 10min a frame to render on my 1ghz athlon. -- The scene only uses very minimal radiosity. It is lit by an image map wrapped around the scene with a simple gradient on it. --- There is one distant light in the corner to give the defined shadows. -- Yea... all in all though I wasn't touching my machine for a while though. (About 24 hours)
