Hey Folks,

I've been searching for a way to make a toon shader in Maya 6.5 using a texture map I painted in PhotoShop. Although there are tons of stuff for standard toon shaders (one great one is http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=135922), I can't find a way to use an existing texture map in a toon shade. Maya 6.5 doesn't have the toon shade function version 7 does , but I know its possible.

Does anyone know how I can do this? Sorry if this sounds noob...thanks in advance!

hi

you can make a toon shader with a Ramp and a luminance node (sp) (connect the luminance node to the V cord of the ramp) and connect a Texturemap to the ramp and ether connect the ramp output to a lambert or a surface shader.

but the ink line will become a problem.

hope it helps

Thanks Gisli, I'll give it a try:thumbsup: . If anyone else has a different way, I'm all ears.
