A matte painting. (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35764)
Another matte painting. (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35758)
A concept. (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35777)
[edit by Kirt] Sorry, I really made a mess of this thread. I didn't know it was a front page feature, so I'm trying to fix it by linking to the Aldalorn's other illustration threads. Thanks for reposting these Aldalorn. [/edit by Kirt]

I really like your work! Nice mood in the Matte Painting.
You have a good eye for putting detail in the right place.
And man, 15 min is damn fast for these concepts above! Respect!
01-06-2003, 05:21 PM
whats amazing about those concepts is the lighting you used...DAMN lol that lighting is damn perfect for a 15 min drawing! lol

Now I'm depressed.....;)
I wish I could do something like that
01-06-2003, 08:52 PM
Ahurissant, limite inhumain :)
01-06-2003, 10:12 PM
beatifull paintings Aldalorn. did you paint the first 2 from life of reference photos?
01-06-2003, 11:04 PM
Hoping someone will explain it to me. I've seen other works like this, as well and it looks like painterly photo manipulation. Is that what it is? Just curious
01-06-2003, 11:24 PM
i wish i could see the images....judging by the replies they must be astounding. hmmmm.....i have tried reloading the page....no luck. you can bet i'll try back in a while. :D
01-06-2003, 11:26 PM
well there they are....lol. those are truly amazing. ever heard of Bob Ross? well, he has got nothing on you! hehe.....well done.
How come no one sees this sticky thread at the top of the forum?
Please, read this BEFORE starting a thread (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32123)
I really dislike removing other people's artwork ... but you've left me with no choice.
01-07-2003, 05:29 AM
Kirt - Aren't you a little bit harsch now? He's a newcomer afterall ;) I sure hope he'll repost that matte painting though! :)
awwwww.... i didnt get to see the painting :annoyed: , its gone :surprised
please repost the painting
Yes, it's harsh to delete any drawing. But should I delete someone else's because of the same problem and ignore only the ones that I feel are too good to go?
Moderating is a tough job ... damned if I do, damned if I don't. It'd be easier if everyone just read the rules and followed them.
I hope the image gets posted again. I liked it also. And ... I didn't notice until after that it was being plugged on the front page. Yeah, I feel like an ass. But I've got to be a consistant ass.
01-07-2003, 08:33 AM
Hello, i don't understand why images were removed, so i try to repost them.
01-07-2003, 08:38 AM
15 min for windows.
3-4 h for chair because a particular lightning in this scene.
wow these are great! *****
01-07-2003, 09:06 AM
why were they deleted kirt? not having a go, its just hteres no explanation. ta
yeah bruce ! well done ! ;-)
Sorry, I guess I'm having an off day. Here's why the images were removed from this thread ...* One attachment per thread, updates after comments is fine but use a link please, and if you want to, with [img] tags around it.
* Do NOT post large amounts of artwork at the same time. CGtalk.com is not your portfolio.I had just removed images from another post (different member) and I felt that I should be consistant for all posts. So, I did the same here. Simple as that.
Then I realized that this was a front page feature. Stupid me. Now everyone knows I'm a dolt. Weeeeeeee. :bounce:
OK ... I'm human, I make mistakes. I recognize that and said I'm sorry. Can we now go back to admiring this fine art and I'll remember to check the front page before being the iron handed Moderator that I am. :D
Aldalorn, welcome to CGTalk! :wavey: Things aren't usually this chaotic. Blame it on the new guy. I love your illustrations and hope that you continue to post more of your matte paintings here (within the forum rules though).

I love these smileys

The paintings are so refreshing and so nice. NO attitude just as it is. Nice study of something that's so plain but at the same time poetic. It makes me really appreciate the simple and ordinary things in life that's overlooked because of daily hulabaloo.
The two paintings reminds me of the days when I was just a fine art student at Pratt Institute. I wish I could live and just paint.
Thanks for the posts.

Rules are ment to be followed, but sometimes in some cases rules should be stretched! ;)
But anyway, we love you anyway Kirt, I can't say that anyone can do a better job at being a moderator than you in here!! ;)
