can anyone explain what is "Broken Hierarchy Rigging Technique" ? what are the advantages and disadvantages, how do i rig in this method it normally ?
It just means that some bones arent linked in a rig, there either freeform floating, constrained or otherwise driven by something else be it FK or controllers etc. With games generally you need a bone hierachy unbroken as the game engine needs this for export. In film its not the case - certainly theres specific, rendering issues etc but other than that no.
