nice!
not too sure I like the red cupcake wrappers stuck to his head tho, might look better as slightly smaller horns or summit

Great! Great proportions, great expression, great txturing and great modeling! Don't change a thing! Very true to it's concept/2d version. I like. And I do hope also you will be doing the body as well. ;)

Good work, man! Here goes the COKE MAN!!!
Just slap "Coca Cola" on his horns:p
Sorry but they looks too strange!!

hmmm if i'm not mistaken, i bet those two coke shaped things on his head are just the start of the horns, u know how the skin and stuff leads up to the horn? Thats my guess.

Ummm, surely that's how Hellboy's horns are?

Awesome job mate, keep up the good work; good re-working of a comic character into a semi-realistic style.

C'mon mods, surely this deserves sticking on the front page.
very nice take on mignolas character. If you ask me the skin is bob on, nice contrast between the bridge of the nose and the nose tip.
Just about the right amount of spec on the hair as well.
nothing to crit at all.
very nice work jonas.

Thanks everyone! glad you liked it!
I´m working on the body now, shouldn´t take to long. The texture is 3000*4000 and the .psd file is 70 megs, but I´ll upload a sample of it tomorrow.

Yea whats the deal with the "cupcake wrappers" on his forehead? I hope you are putting horns on those things! Nice skin texture though.

wow.. I would love to know how you made that skin look so real. You got to tell us what material you used and any special tricks you might have done. I have been playing with max trying to achieve a nice skin material. Awesome work and I think the bump is just right.

Hellboy doesn't have horns! They've been cut of. I´ll work a bit on the texture...
And for all of you who haven't read hellboy: Run out and buy a copy now! It's sooo good!

great stuff jonas, i think i might tend to agree that the bump is slightly too strong
the hair really adds alot to the whole charecter and fits it very well, did you use shag ?
can the hellboy series be bought here in the north (scandinavia)? or do would one have to order it by web ? the style looks very interesting

good work mon, very true to hellboy, however it looks more preacher-ish than mignola-ish. try to scale it down heightwise and it will be even more true to hellboy, I took the pic into photoshop and did it myself and it made all the difference..
hmm..didnt he break off his own horns cus he didnt want to be a devil??:)

excellent model and a brilliant texture, the only thing that looks out of place are the eyes really... i agree they are very much like what they are in the cartoony thing, but, they dont fit into the 3d version very good imho..

Jävligt snyggt!
Whats the resolution on the facial/head texture?

I dont know whats wrong with the moderators here, this is some of the best stuff I´ve seen. It´s much better than the head thats on the "front page" right now. "oi people who controll this site, pay attention"

Well i dont want to meet him at night but great stuff man^__^
Wow! Good modeling and awesome Texturing!
I'd only model those wrinkles at the edge of the horns they look a bit too flat mapped to me...
Have a wire? :curious:

Hey Jonas, really cool head. Could you give us noobs some advice as to how you did the skin shader? Was the bump entirely done in max or did you scan a photo in of some pores of the skin and bump it up? It would be nice if you could share some of these secrets from people who want to learn from the pros.
Cheers
