Hi everyone..

http://www.x01mick.com/files/test.jpg

I've got a problem with those two materials. As you can see in the image, a green glass is covering a stainless steel material (yes, that crappy flat silver colour heh), which is obviously meant to be silverish. Now when I render, the covered part turns out black or dark silver, while the uncovered part is the right colour. I thought that's normal, but when I tested it with some glass I've got at home I realised it shouldn't do that. It shouldn't darken the steel that much. Which options should I touch? Here's the two materials:

The stainless steel:

And the green glass (the diffuse map in the reflection is just a black/white falloff):

Is it a matter of fog, glass colour, or the steel? I tried to make the steel more white, but nothing changes. How can I fix this? Also, if you could help me out with the stainless steel material as well, that would be great cause as you can see now it doesn't look quite like it.

Thank you all

MickO

Try upping the number of reflections and refractions a bit...

Actualy, Glass should be solid black in the diffuse slot, that could be part of your problem.
