looks like it'll be a very cool lookin model! i think the hull of the ship needs to be smoothed out some, the edges seem to sharp. A tip i've learned is bevel everything. Just about every human made object in the world has bevels on it. The interior you posted looks like its made out of primatves which is fine. The doors seem off to me for a ship, on the carriers i've been on the door is sorta in a oval shape rising up from the floor. Cant want to see your next update :)

Thanks, for the comments...

I figured the hull of the ship was looking to sharp, and since this is the general shape I want it, I'll be smoothing out that sharp line once I get the hull fine tuned. It actually took me longer to do the bridge than the main hull. The main window took up the bulk of the time.

It's interesting you mentioned a carrier, because my employer is contracted to help a company to update the USS Kennedy (aircraft carrier). So once I start working on there, I'll have a good reference, but I don't think they'll allow me to take any pictures of the metal, doors, etc for textures and/or reference pictures.

Yes, the interior is made up of primitives, and once I get the main model completed, I'll "Walk through" the ship and fine tune as needed. The doors will be changed though and I will attempt to use my memory of the Kennedy as an inspiration for the doors, unless if they'll allow me to get pics for references.

I probably won't do anything to it till I work on the Kennedy for a couple days. Once the model is completed I have no clue what to use it for. It will be a good headache to texture, though I will get some good experience texturing ;)

I'm going to also try to model this thing as low poly as I possibly can because I want to *gasp* use it as a Poser scene to make an animation of a scene in my RPG...

Keep the comments rolling in :)

Excuse my dense mind, but what do you mean by "Style of modelling"?

The model is being made in Rhinocerus (http://www.rhino3d.com).

your style would be nurbs :) I've used rhino at school (highschool) its okay for this type of stuff.

I kinda figured thats what you meant by style, but I wasnt entirely sure.

After all the demos I've tried (Lightwave, Maya, Rhino, 3d Studio, & truespace5 - didnt like this app at all, but it was about a year ago) I found that I was more comfortable working in Rhino.

Once the model is done I'll have the fun task of converting it to meshes, then texturing :(
