the lip-syncing works well...however the lips look a little gelified. Which looks good but odd, I like odd...

I agree

Plus it looks as if the middle of the bottom lip is pinned down.

Interesting method. It has a good secondary action you dont see in most lip synced animation, but I do agree with what everyone else says above.

I should also add that the "ss" sound in matrix needs to have the teeth come together, and the T in "what" should have teh toungue hit the roof of his mouth.

I was thinking about doing bones for heads.. do u have any research material to share ?

I think it looks pretty good but I have to agree about the lips being pretty floppy. Can I see a wireframe of the model with the bone setup?

Here's a playblast of a head animation I did using bones as a test. I was testing some theories on how bone setup for facial animation would work. Using set driven keys with custom, keyable attributes to enable wide range of variety. Total time for modeling and animation setup using softbinding is around 9 - 11 hrs.
