I recently downloaded PhyTools from Remotion, and well, all I can say is that it looks and behaves like an awesome plugin.

The sample movie I've posted here:
http://www.policarpo.us/movies/phytools_dynamics_001.zip (QT 7 only H.264)

is based on the Particle example scene in the demo files (I took some liberties with it here and there). Anyway, I didn't realize until I rendered the final scene that the little balls eventually merge into the ground plane and in to one another. I'm not really sure why this is happening, so i've also attached the scene in case anyone wants to pick it apart (sorry, didn't include the texture map cause it's over 1mb in size. (file: http://www.policarpo.us/movies/balls_colliding_001.zip

Get PhyTools and 8mb in example files here: http://www.remotion4d.net/

Seems you've posted the link to the movie twice instead of posting the link to the scene file.

Hey policarpo, I could be wrong, but it almost looks like the spheres are growing... they seem only to sink by the amount that they grew.

hrmmm..weird. i don't remember keyframing anything. i'll look at them tomorrow...my desktop is rendering at the moment.

**** Ahh...crap, you are right...i think i set the scale on the particles higher than 1. Duh....great eye my man. :)

Well let's call it a happy accident. Great movie and I actually like the sinking and merging :)
Thanks for posting the scenefile!

Weird this ... I was looking at the posted scene file and C4D reported that the plug-in ".SSR Simulator (test)" (ID 1019025) was missing. As I have PhyTools 0.95 this is very strange.

Is there a plug-in included in the Windows version that is missing from the Mac version?

Not really sure Tony. I am just using the latest demo build of the PhyTools. You might check to see if there is a newer release for the Mac.

Most of the phytools plugins arent working on the newest Mac OS--as reported in an other thread. Pity.

I also have the commercial plugin and got the "plugin not found" dialogue. I suspect that's because you can't save with the demo version?

As I have PhyTools 0.95 this is very strange.I'm not at my C4d machine right now but I think there's a later build than 0.95. 0.985 perhaps? Might be wishful thinking on my part though :).

As far as the sim goes, it looks wonderful. Very impressive.
You might try hardening up the spheres a little as it may alleviate the sinking.

:) Thanks, but as Kico pointed out, they are actually growing. I forgot that I had set the scale on my particle emitter to 2. :) happy accident.

I downloaded this version: 21.12.2005 | New PhyTools DEMO Version 0.985 (Mac and Win)

Thanks for the feedback guys. My PhyTools 0.95 was purchased, not a demo. I sort of half-expected that I would be informed if there was an update.

I'm always making assumptions like that. I'll see if there is a later version.

Superb plug-in by the way.

The latest update of Phytools/Phyris is 060506. This one runs Policarpo's scene without problem (even in R9.6 and on Mac). So if it doesn't run for you check out the update! You should have gotten a downloadlink from Remo when you purchased. :)

It doesn't crash, but when I open the scene I get a "plugin not found" error.

Well the latest version is available from here ->
www.remotion4d.net/logdown (http://www.remotion4d.net/logdown)

It work only with C4D 9.52 or later on Windows and Mac.
The version for C4D 9.1 will come a bit later, probably with new version.

There is new Tag ".SSR Simulator" in the last version and if you uxe old you will ged Error "Plugins not found"...

The old ".RIS Simmulator" was based on modified version of ODE.
But the new ".SSR Simulator" uses my ow Rigid Body physic Engine that will be developed further.

Actualy new version with some additions and bug fixes is ready, I must only do some more tests and release it....

regards,
Remo
