hey! that's really cool moddeling and I'm happy to see a fellow blender user. For hair you can use the static particles, something which I don't experiment with very often. if you want specific help with blender, goto the forums in www.blenderartists.org it's really helpful!

I've never seen such detailed work in Blender, but then again i've never looked.

Deep Paint 3D/UV is a good program.

hello

very nice work, indeed. About UVmap, what don't you simply use the LSCM unwrapper? It is really awesome: you can draw seams, pin some corners, and then resize/rebuild your map using the Live Unwrap feature. Really worthes a try. In the CVS version (v2.42 is on its way), there's also a different algorithm for unwrapping: angle biased unwrap which produce very nice results most of the time, with a very few seams.

Apparently (according to the screenshots), you use Blender v2.40 ALPHA 1... v2.41 is out since a few months already, and 2.42 will probably be available during june. Perhaps you'll like to check the latest 2.41 here:

http://www.blender.org/cms/Blender.31.0.html

A lot of new features are on their way, especially Material Nodes and Composit Nodes:

http://www.blender.org/cms/Changes_since_last_ver.727.0.html

Be sure to be tuned with Blender, it's getting to higher levels each week ;)

Edit: what was your question about Subsurf? I nearly overread this...

x Dave:

Tnx a lot for link m8 !

x olivS:

i have a problem with LSCM on Blender but maybe i dont know how to use it...so:i have a 3D model then open UV image editor window, on UV face select mode i select all the faces model and on UV editor push on LSCM. Now it should "open" my model but sometime it overlaps the faces; for example: i have a cube and with LSCM it make me a diagonal line with 4 vertecs inside.

nothing about subsurf,all ok now

I think it is because you didn't state any Seam... in Edge select mode, please select a few edges, mark them as seam ([Ctrl]+[E], Mark Seams) and then run again the LSCM unwrap. For an example about unwrapping a simple cube, here's a link to a Normal Map tutorial (http://feeblemind.tuxfamily.org/dotclear/index.php/2005/08/23/43-tutorial-blender-and-normal-maps) for Blender in which I apply the map to a unwrapped cube (obviously, only the unwrapping part will interest you).

The LSCM facility within Blender is very powerful (which is not seen at all in the tutorial I pointed you to, unfortunately). I'm sure you will quickly get used to it and do wonders! Your modeling skills rock!

man this is just really awesome... started blender a few months ago (oh well.. about 3-4 months or so...) and you can see my dragon and aiko and luma models... not very good, but hoping to get to your point soon... if you havent discovered it yet, the 2.41 has a hair thing included.. havent gotten the time to check it out yet, but i watched some videos of it... looks really cool... anyway, good luck with your model, that armor is so cool!! and the character too ;)

Dont worry man (and thanks),i downloaded Blender 13-08-2005 therefore less then 1 year,u can do it :)
then for the info about 2.41,i never check the site :(

anyway this is 1 complete rendering of the char.the armor on legs and arms isn't make yet.
At the end i'll check all the char about anatomy of muscles ecc ecc (i know, arent perfect ^^) but i prefer to finish the armor and texture before do this.
Here the pic

But i wanna take a little "pause" with modellation and start, for a bit, with UV map-textures and materials.
This is the "metal armor" without chains or leather parts ecc

Here the pic & thanks ^^

PS:sorry for my eng :P

looking good..the outfit came out very well, with curves in all the right places
the leather at this stage looks a bit clean, maybe some wear on the edges would add to it?though the lighter coloured leather looks pretty decent to me,just the darker red one looks to consistent.
oh & a hint of a rust on the chrome parts would be cool

:)..the crotch plate gives a whole new meaning to the term 'wolf whistle'

Cheers

hi stefan.

rust on crome parts? how,if u mean screws and chains i tried this effect but are too small :( only with a rendeing on it u can see the texture
So for u would be better to make lighter the leather...mmm i was looking for a dark leather :P anyway i'll try what u said.

Ah,u said: "just the darker red one looks to consistent." u mean under the shoulders?
