Hi all,

I am a relative newcomer to C4D and am trying to mirror some objects I have created (a leg created of 4 separate objects to be specific). In 3dsmax it was simple matter of mirroring the object or group of objects.

So far I have only managed to mirror Points and Polygons using the "Mirror" tool in the Structure menu, but this is not exactly what I need as it creates additional points and polygons within the same object.

Any help? This is probably sooooo basic.

Thanks in advance!

i think u want the symetry object ...create a symetry object make the "leg" a child and you should have the effect you are looking for....you may need to adjust the axis tho....

Hi, I first thought about symmetry as well, but mirror is easily done by scalin an object -1 on the axis

I hope that the image explains it even more; the upper is the original - the lower is mirrored in this way

Hi,
inverting the axis may lead to trouble later. For polygon objects you can negate the size and position instead.

I stand corrected....
