Hello, im new here and im also fairly new to 3DSMAX 4.2.

Though i'm following the manuals quite closely im still confused about how to make an objects animation loop a certain amount of times.

For example a ball bounces up and down 15 times (on a loop)and then at frame 220 it starts to roll. How would i go about doing this?

Hope i explained it well enough, thanks alot for your time :)

While I might consider messing around with various ideas (off the top of my head I'm thinking maybe multiple controllers could be used, or one could at least make a copy of the object and toggle their visibility), I think I'd just copy the bounce-frames 15 times manually and get on with things from there...

I know it's not a technically very satisfying approch, but you do it, and move on, and that seems like an important thing in itself to me :)

Just my take on it though, I might be overlooking something.

It's a good chance for try with the Track view, ist's a little hard splain how, but is very usefull, you can paste, cupy or cut your key frames in a more controled way.:D

Ah cool! I didnt know you could copy paste into the track view, i have been looking around on it and had a look at the key frames on the position controllers ...

(am i right in thinking scale, rotation, and position all have individual controllers with key frames?)

Thanks for the help! I'll have a play with the trackview when i next get some free time. Just have to find out about editing keyframes, (anyone know which page to look at in the manual for explainations of the track view controls?)

Thanks again :)

James
