Hi, just joined this forum mainly to pickup a few tips & tricks.
I will also put up some of my renderings, open for all comments.
So here the first pic, did this in c4d v7 which I've been using for about 6 or 7 months, so I'm still new at this 3D stuff

welcome to CGtalk, glad to have you here, good image so far placement of the light good for the reflection although as kiwi pointed out your materials a little too clean, my main crit though is more about the shadow, its too soft making the table sort of float a little and looks really odd too. I would changeyour light angle, increase the mapsize (unless you wanna use an area shadow being a still image the render time shouldn't be bad.) and change the bias a little on the shadow.

Other wise good stuff not a bad start at all.

Welcome!

Cool looking table and stools. It would look cool in a modern/retro looking diner.

welcome Shoey14,
IMO you just need an environment to get it closer to reality...but we still wait for your improvement.

Ciao

I would like to say , Welcome with a good piece of work. :D

but about the chrome thingy, yes i agree using the dirty or scratched texture to emulate that "hey this stuff has been here for year" feeling. try it, u will sure like these.

I looked for Dirty Nuts but only found one for Sla 2.5.2 and thats for xl v7.3 and I've got xl v7.2 I know about the 20meg update to xl but I'm stuck with a 56k modem for now. But after all that I played around with my chrome shader (nukei modified) added some noise bump map and this is what I came up with, maybe the bump is a over the top but I kind of like it. please let me know what you think, the background is just a quick temp setup.
