View Full Version : Character: Heidi, the deer girl
3Diva 01-05-2003, 06:37 AM Hello all, long time lurker first time poster here. I started this model a few months ago and had given up on her. However I recently got reinspired to finish her. She is half deer, half human, the protector of forests. She looks out for animals and hunts the hunters. The body, hair and bottom layer of clothes are finished for the most part. I will be adding a few layers of clothing, a bow, and doing some texturing and lighting. I would love some C&C. Would like to know what people think I need to work on modelling wise, before I move on to the textures. Thanks :)

Nice work. :) I really like the concept. How many polys is that composed of?

Here are some new update pictures. Thanks so much for the comments, and critiques both in the forums and on #cgtalk. Its been very helpful. I've changed the proportion of the torso, made the cheekbones more prominent, and the biceps bulge less as per the suggestions I recieved. I've also finished up her clothing. The last thing I plan to model for her is a bow.
SIGIL: I will have to check the poly count, but I'd venture to say its probably pretty high exspecially after adding her clothes. I'll check before the next time I update.
Spliff_Richards: I hope to animate her at a later time, expecially facial animation. I will be working on the lotr challenge, then some different low res models and texturing. But I hope to get back to animating her eventually :)

I think that the antlers/horns look a bit out of place. Might could figure out a way to make it look more liek they belong. It might be fixed when you texture and shade everything to completion. Nice work though, I love the Satie Satyr }:>
