Hi.

Is it possible in 3dsmax to controle a very highpoly mesh with a lower res.
Because it is a pain in the ass to set up morph targets for a highres model, so I thought that it maybe vere possible just use the lower res for morph and then put a highres on top...

It is possible with a stack like this:

- Edit mesh (here is all the highres... BUT Edit Meshs modelling tools is crap so it doesnt work any good.)
- Morph
- Poly (bottom and lowres)

else it is also possible to use the HSDS modifyer that also sucks, because it doesn't have poly modelling...

So I need a solution where I can controle the highres with a lowres and still be able to use Polytools for the higres.

Unfortunately there is no way to use poly tools up the stack. It's one of the most obviously lacking features - an edit poly modifier.

I started work on a script a while back that basically attaches dummies to the verts of your low res morpher object, and then uses these 'bones' to drive a hires skinned head. That way you're free to work independantly on the hires head. Unfortunately I don't have time to finish it at the moment.
