AWSOME MAN!
this is just simply awsome!

I love how you model too!
it's going so fast (I know, it's speed up, but anyway). I'm sure you know what you're doing ;)

I can't wait to see the finnished, textured version.

I'm also a big fan of Amano since a few years back. And I can see some similarities to his work.
Your painting is also awsome!

Keep up the superb work!

the video is just great, but I think you saw my
reply on the other big forum (don't want to
tell the name :D) it also starts with "cg" :)

I'm using the RadLight Player (http://216.194.92.96/) to slow down the
movies, but it just get up to 50% if you want
25% or less you have to use Adobe
Premiere or something like that.

ifran view is what you want.

try www.download.com and look for it. you can interactively change the speed down to whatever you like

I've tried Downloading on two different operating systems using both winzip, and ace, I get CRC errros everytime.. :( -- I'm sure the video is great as I have collected all your other videos. Any chance of repacking this one?

Martin-K-

O.k...Having seen it now.... I can say that has got to be the very coolest time-laps video I've ever seen. --- I've seen nothing like it. Refreshing to see someone take the time to create the video with a model that wasn't a head, or some other portion of the human anatomy as there are countless videos out there on those topics.

great vid, very helpful!! :) Thx

p.s. you really should put more stuff on your website... and those flash things are really brilliant (hehe, I did the same thing with one of my characters but w/ animated gif last year on my website..)

Just wanted to say thanks for sharing. I know that it must have took some doing to get that time lapse video together. I'm curious, does anyone know what modeler that is, I don't recognize it (I've used softimage, max and lightwave, maybe a cusom interface?). Just curious, thanks again. Great work.

Hey I downloaded your video and also irfanview. Thing is it works with my mediaplayer but in irfanview I dont get any image from the video. It acts like it plays but no picture comes. Funny thing is that the warcraft III trailer in divx 4 runs in it. What type of compression are you using for this?

Martin-K-
03-12-2002, 08:56 PM
thanks guys.

toce: that turntable of the character thing was done by a friend. not me. i just put my characters in it. :)

jjburton: Mirai 1.1

It's Mirai I think...
yep

Hellbring: im sure i used divx 3.11 but it might have been 4.
i checked ifranview just now. and it worked for me.

thanks again :)

martin - what kind of gfx card/driver are you using for mirai? It runs kinda ok on my geforce2/winXP, but the selection overlays are slow.

I wanna get back into mirai after working a lot with nendo last week...

BTW... The tiger just rock. Please post an animation when you get the time!

very nice

how long did it take you do that? or how many times was the video sped up?

also how come you work so far away from the model at certain times?

ne ways you are very quick it seems

(and the bone system looks bad ass)

Martin-K-
03-13-2002, 08:47 AM
not sure how long it took. i was probably thinking more of where id go next than actually modelling him. ( except near the end when was rushing ( see back legs :D )

as for videocards....
im using a geforce 2 gts with 64 megs. ( 12.41 drivers ) and ive patched it to a quadro.

but im thinking of buying a quadro4. just because its finally got hardware overlays.

all the previous quadro cards only had software overlays.
...( tho id preffer buying a geforce 4 and patching it. but it appears that the hardware might be different this time....(doh )

hey man thx for reposting the video...all I can say is WOW!

Do they have a demo version of that software?...I want to try it out.

I have the meshTools for 3dsmax4 but you were doing some wild stuff that I dont think I could do with meshTools.

are you gonna post a render of this model anytime soon? :)

What I really want to know is what res are you working at and how big is the window that your doing the timelapse vids in? What about the FPS captured and FPS playback?
My problem is that I work at 1600 x 1200 and always one viewport fullscreen. So capturing even 3-5 fps at that res makes the whole system slow and hard to work with. If I keep'em 4 viewports and just model in one of them for the vid, it sucks because the viewport is to damn small to work in. For my personal style anyway.

that's all really good.
what program did you use to capture? link would be nice too.
thx

Great video Martin! :) I loved how you modeled all the little details particularly, and rotating those screws even :)

It seems that most people recording video tutorials nowadays are using Camtasia from Techsmith ( http://www.techsmith.com ).
