Hello, I made this a few weeks ago and got mixed comments from people. I know this is a GOOD place for serious help.

If you guys wont mind giving me a few pointers here for this model. I am trying to go as low poly as possible with out losing the details of the outfit or shoes. If it looks ok as is please let me know. I know art is never done :) its at 2,200 tris right now. As I browse around im thinking i could lose a few here and there...what would a good poly count be for a character of this size?

well I think in order to delve into a propper critique, you need to tell us what direction your going with the model. are you going for a certain style? Its good your thinking in terms of optimization, But I see people focusing on that far more than they should. Your work priority should always start with how it looks first.

from what I can tell from a glance:
first:
It looks like you have a slight grasp on anatomy, as to where the body bulges, and why it bulges, but you need to focus a bit more on tweaking it. the forearms for example are way to large in the middle. that bulge needs to appear way closer to the mid arm.

second,
you need to work on your proportions a bit more. I know your going for cartoony, but the arms are still freakishly long

-something to also note- is to keep quads as much as possible, especially in joints. triangles in joints will cause you problems down the road when you animate-

looks cool, as for the poly count? id reccomend upping it if you want to up your skills for next gen, id say 5k atleast, maybe a bit less if its like a npc or side character, probably cloe to 10k for a main character. itd be swet ot see this guy in full glory!
