Hey I'm pretty new to 3d, I've done dabs of tutorials throughout the last few years but now I'm doing a course on it. I've drawn up a few sketches of what I want my model to look like (front and side view) but I realised once I put them into max (I'm using version 8), the height of some of the points were dissimilar. So I redrew the front sketch to match the side sketch better, and put it in. But now it doesn't have the same shape or feel as what I originally intended... I guess thats ok since I can change it once the head is modelled. I will post the sketches once I get home... what I guess I really need is typical advice and techniques on sketching in general (I'm... pretty damn average), modifying them in photoshop/illustrator and then how to go about creating a model based off them.

Thanks in advance,

Slade

One tip: Never call yourself a noob, noobs don't learn, newbies do,

back to the point, do you know about foreshortening? a quick intro to the wonders of it

http://www.polykarbon.com/tutorials/foreshort/foreshort.htm

as for your problem, you may want to consider using a ruler and measure up the points from your old and new sketch, drastic...but it should help
