Greetings, we are a small but close team looking for a few more people to join us on our current game project. We do have the technical side under control but we would love to balance out our artistic side of the team. Here is some information on us and the project, please feel free to comment or ask any questions:

Team name: Endgame Interactive

We are a group that has been around for almost 3 years now. We have been working on a Massive multiplayer real time strategy game. While we have made great progress, it’s currently in a alpha state, we have decided to take a step back and complete a free fun and addictive game before continuing on such a massive task. We are comprised of 4 professional software engineers and a part time artist.

Project name: Mythros

Mythros is currently a temporary name. This project has only been going for under a month and we have concentrated on design and quickly producing a game.

Brief description:

The basic idea behind our game is to release a free, fun and addictive team based multiplayer game. The game play takes place in a medieval age where 2 opposing mythic races are at war. The player jumps in with control on a legionary hero and will join the battle, attempting to sack the opposing sides’ castle. This is kind of similar to WOW’s battle grounds, except where the player progression is established purely in a multiplayer battle. There is a design doc for this with much greater detail.

Target aim:

Our aim with this project is to release a free fun game that can be enjoyed by players from all ends of the earth. We want to develop a fan base and establish our framework before continuing on to a more ambitious project (such as our MMORTS).

Compensation:

The only compensation we can offer is the experience of working with professionals, some of which have had experience in the game industry, with the other working other jobs in the software field. We have had 2 other members on our team move on; both have advanced to get a job in the game industry (working for NC Soft and Ubi Soft). Endgame Interactive is a LLC and does have an extended business plan, but no promises can be made as far as future wages/positions as we are not at a point where we can do so.

Technology:

Our game engine is entirely shader driven. Built from the ground up with C++, OpenGl, OpenAL, and CG. Only a month in. but features include full perpixel lighting with bumpmaps, realistic water, scalable deformable terrain, dynamic flowing sky “hump”, optimized scene graph system, full xml driven GUI, full surround sound system, etc.

We have a powerful Network Library developed from our MMORTS.

We already have a massive multiplayer lobby (like battle.net and steam) developed for players to gather and launch games.

Talent needed:

We are currently looking for 2 people.

Web Designer: The first is a web designer capable of creating a new, clean and nice looking website that will allow us to communicate with players, and release information over time. A sample site would needed to showcase your abilities

Character modeler/animator: We are looking for an artist that is able to model/texture and then animate characters for our game. This would need to be skeletal animation and created in or loaded into 3dstudio max as we will be exporting from there. Again any samples would be nice to see to showcase your talent.

Team structure:

As stated above we have 4 software engineers and a canuck artist. The roles of our team members are as follows:
- Project guy; In charge of networking and the server element of the project
- Client guy; In charge of the client, primarily the rendering and audio systems
- Lobby/GUI guy; In charge of the GUI, VFS, and the lobby application for game meeting.
- Design guy; In charge of the game design, as well as balancing and some simulation programming
- The Canadian Artist; In charge current 2d and 3d art assests

Website:

http://www.endgameinteractive.com/. Currently out of date and showing our last project as our current project. As we are programmers and not web designers, it’s not the best looking page and we haven’t made an attempt to update it with our current project as we plan to be adding a web designer to the team. You can feel free to check our old project there though :)
