Here's my set up

Pentium 4

over a gig of ram

Oxygen GVX1 32 mb << think the 32 mb is the problem

All was well on my first project till I started texture mapping. It was starting to get slow. I am using 2048 X 2048 texture maps.
the hypershade was getting slow and the texture's in the viewport werent's showing up, they were just white spots. It renders fine however This was a week ago and I only had about 512 mb ram, so I ordered another 512 mb of ram and installed it.

After installation, the hypershade started acting loopy, and at times will even crash the machine when it's opened on a new project. I can get iit to work by opening it in a layout then importing my project. I still however can not view all of my textures in the viewport when I hit the #6 key only a portion of them show up. and the icons in the hypershade appear white.

I am wondering if my card just isn't robust enough to handle textures of this size, or perhaps some of my settings or preferences are not configured approprietly.

Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

What OS do you use?... are the graphic card drivers the last version for your OS and Califiqued from Maya Compatibility table?

I am using windows 2000 professional.

I am also using the default drivers that came with the card, I will head over to the web site and chack for the latest drivers. This card was one of the ones on the alias wavefront website that was supported by Maya.
