I was wondering if it is somehow possible to cut up a polygon object with rows and columns to creat a nice correct grid... i thought doing this by the "Extrude Oject" and using the regular grid, but the edges screw up the grid... i want to place objects on the points with everywhere the same space inbetween... other wise maybe possible in mograph?

thanks.

Try the knife tool in Plane mode.

And while you hold down your mouse key, press the shift key. This allows to change offset and spacing. Or use slicing.
As for cutting in the other direction (grid), I haven't found a better way than rotating the object 90° and cutting a second time.

Change the plane in the knife properties. :)
