Well since we're talking about input lags of large LCDs and DVI cables...If this dual link is used for large resolutions, could it be that those people that experience input lag have single link cards and/or cables?

If those large screens work with a single link cables do they use dual link if it's available? How does that work? I hope I got terminology right.

No, it simply wouldnt work. If you run an LCD over 1920 (well, technically 2048) then you need a dual link card and cable. If not, your resolution will be limited.

I see. So for 24" which is 1920 it's not even used. I've seen people talk about dual links and stuff, but they are not even used on their systems. Because on dual screen setup, resolution is spread on both DVI outputs so...

Correct. 2x 1920x1200 screen requires two single link DVI cables. In other words, your 24" screens will work fine on almost any gfx card.
