"Lancelot & Guinevere" (Hey I love the Camelot Leyend!)
These are the rules:
* You have 40, (count them 40!) minutes to do your sketch. IF you go beyond the
assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has
expired, along with the FINAL drawing.
* Also, I will add a new voting category, called THE FASTEST DRAW.
* Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
* RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!
* Ill post ANOTHER thread to quantify and track WHO has participated the most on these threads.
PS To submit your topic ideas and suggestions go to this thread:

I hate to mention it, but where did 696 go?
05-03-2006, 06:07 PM
Ugh, this did not come out how I wanted it to. I may need to try this again.
Photoshop, 80 minutes (I just can't keep track of when my time is up!)
I guess it ain't too bad, but I want to try again anyways.

Not particulary original, and I think I went over 40 minutes (don't remember when I started) so here's a guess at where 40 minutes landed this:
I think I may try another...
Sylanya: Nice colors. Love to see it finished =)

Hi guys, this is one of these cases where you get something totally different of what you tought, I don't like it very much, but I guess is not that bad. 40 min, photoshop + wacom
hi, don't know how long i needed beause interrupted a few times.
but i think under 40 min.
it should show the sittuation where lancelot lies there deadly wounded
after he killed Mordred in a fight. Guinevere ends getting in a cloister
which you can see on the mountain.
lancelot on the left tries to reach here.
on the right his dead enemy (whith his shield lying on him).

Hmm, i watched some monty python movie once. I guess I have to read a bit to draw these two ;)
very nice entries!

I wouldn't worry about it Goliath, as there is about 500 different versions of the entire Arthur myth anyway :)

I took version #347 :) Didn't get very far, but I think I might run with this one for a while just to see what happens. Lancelot definitely needs a new arm and better pose, he's about to tip over.
Edit: oops, forgot. 40 mins, Painter.

And, err, I ended up with placeholder clothing, they will definitely be different when I'm done! haha, poor Guin's dress looks like I should put a spring print pattern on it, eh? :)

lots of ideas for this scene...it's a very fertile topic

Oooh Audit - that is really lovely. I think it is my favorite so far. I like how most everything is implied rather than sketched out precisely. Leaves much to the imagination, and I like the direction you've painted for us to take it.

Audit, really nice structure and lighting.
pencil/PS, 1 hr 40 mins T.T
an attempt at a futuristic version, but ran out of time  The plan was for some mega-city Camelot in the background, but meh.

Ok, this one I just kept working on like an insane person, and I should have let it go a long time before I did. I also have no idea how long it took, because I was so absorbed. I do like the colors better though.
