View Full Version : pivot point snapping makes it dissappear?
Xecode 05-02-2006, 07:28 AM In top view, when I hit insert and hold down X to snap it to a location, the point dissappears as soon as I try to snap it somewhere.

the reason I need this is because I need to use it to duplicate a curve on a perfect 90 degree angle, by guessing it doesn't do it perfectly and it's not connected to the object so birailing doesn't work. If you could tell me how I can snap the the vertex on tip of my curb to a verterx on the tip of the object that would be great. If you can help with the pivot thing I won't need it, but it would still be nice to know.

ok, the tutorial didnt say hold shift+x, when I did that I was able to snap drag there by going over and down. However, just holding shift+x and randomly clicking a point won't move it, and just holding x and click a random point will make the pivot dissappear (I think because it's switching off the manipulator, hence it dissappearing).
Unless there's no way to fix it, I'd still like to know how to snap to vertexes together.

I think I know what your talkin about. Try this. Duplicate the object (not instance) then delete the duplicate and try hitting insert to see if it shows up and your able to move it ;) I know it sounds wierd but just try it. Betcha it'll work.
cheers
