View Full Version : annoying hyperShade icons sizes

since Maya 7 change the hyperShade. the top section of shader icons is always set to a tiny size, and I can't zoom. I know theres 4 zoom settings, but how come they are never saved? so if a jump to one bin, and back the icons are all small again, I can't evern read the text below the icon. did they even test this thing? the old one was great, this is hardly any improvement

Im exactly searching for the same... There is away but let me check it or check for your own here in CGT under hypershade.

EDIT:
I couldnt find here any help, so i search for the file mel how should be the Hypershade and i chage the lines under.

I found it

Search for the hyperShadePanel.mel under:
C:\Programs\Alias\Maya7.0\scripts\others
and search for this lines:

-scrollUpDownNoZoom true
and replace it for:
-scrollUpDownNoZoom false

Thats all.... Please make a copy first. I test it but.... you know never know.

Most annoying feature in this update. However, it does speed things up a little so if you experience slowdown after setting zoom to 1 you know what to do to get it faster again :)

am i the only one who likes the sized icons then heh? :D
though it would be a lot better if the swatch size gets saved in user prefs and doesn't change randomly ;)
