CGTalk - Rendering Issue

Hi there,

I've been comping digital footage in After Effects. I find that when I render out the comped footage and place it back in my timeline and compare it to the original footage I am able to see a distinct difference in quality.

I've tried virtually every uncompressed rendering option but still to no avail. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the digital footage, all of which was shot in 16:9 mode off a Canon XL2.

Any suggestions ?

Any chance the layer is not at best quality "/" but draft "\"?

Or render queue settings are not set to "best settings" but to "current", "draft"etc?

Is footage placed in a comp of the same size/settings so no interpolation happens?
