Hi
This is from the Maya Help section:
Select which UV set to use for Fur (polygons only)
By default Fur uses UV set map1, but you can link your fur descriptions to different UV sets on your polygonal surface. For example, if you have different UV sets defined for different projections, you can link the fur descriptions to the UV set that gives the best fur result.
When you link a fur description to a UV set, all the fur descriptions attached to the polygon are linked. You cannot link individual fur descriptions to different UV sets.
To link attached fur descriptions to a different UV set
Select the object with the fur description(s) you want to link.
Select Window > Relationship Editors > UV Linking > Fur/UV to open the Relationship Editor.
The left panel lists all the fur descriptions that are attached to the selected polygon.
The right panel lists mesh nodes with UV sets for the selected polygon. If more than one polygon is selected, only the last selected polygon is listed.
In the left panel, click a fur description. All the fur descriptions attached to the polygon become selected and in the right panel the UV set the fur descriptions are linked to becomes highlighted.
In the right panel, click the UV set you want to link the fur description(s) to.
To create a new unattached fur description from the Relationship Editor
In the Fur Descriptions panel of the Fur/UV Linking Relationship Editor, select Edit > Create Unattached Fur.
Now my question...
I got 2 uv sets and I want one fur for one uv and one fur for the other uv set. It says that I must create a unattached fur, by edit-create unattached fur, I have, and then it creates me a new fur, there I later attach to my model, (is this right) ?, but in the fur linking both furs is being highlighted anyway., why?
or how shall I do? anyone who knows?
because how can I attach a fur to my object if Im not allowed to have it attach to work ? and I want it to be attached so I can se the fur?, sounds weird to me...
