Hope I'm not breaking any forum rules here.
I was hoping you guys could tell me which way you usually begin modeling. I'm a lightwave user, and almost all of my models are drawn from splines, which are then dragged to look properly. I only use primitive shapes when I'm making things like buildings and tubes. I was thinking, because tools such as bevel seem to be quite handy, but I don't know if I'm using them enough. Is this normal? Thanks.

I now what you mean, I think that when the final product is good the way donīt is important. Stay well

I usually start with box modeling to get a rough 'blob' that's shaped like the main mass of my intended object. Then after a while I start deleting faces and drag edges out , generally going for a more 'poly by poly' method.

I think the way of start is depending on the model. But normally I would start from a box, and plane sometimes.
