Hi there

I was wondering if there was a way to freeze a cycle animation.

Lets say you have a translation animation from frame 0 to 10 and then you cycle it so it goes on to infinite.
Now I would like this to cycle only from frame 0 to 1000 and then be able to carry on animating.

Any ideas? scripts out there?

Thanks

If I understand you correctly, why not just bake out your animation [with post infinity on] using a Sparse Curve Bake...

You can Sparse Curve Bake it till frame 1000 then tag your other animation on to the end to continue...

or

if I understand your problem in a different light...it sounds like you could use an NLA [Trax]

It is hard to understand exactly what you want to do without a specific example...

Mmnn... ok.. I can try..

I should have said this instead though

I have a walk cycle from frame 0 to 20 I want to repeat the walk cycle till frame 150 and the carry on animating..

I would make two files. It is just easier to work with fewer frames. Name the first one "something1_150" and "something"151_300", etc. Working with more files and fewer frames gives you a better chance at recovering from mistakes, as well as keeping the filesizes smaller.

splitting up the animation with a matchpose for rendering will help...like dmcgrath suggested...

or you can sparse curve bake it and add a little variety to your animation instead of just having a cycle...cause then you will have keys to futz with...
