Hello,
As mentioned on the front page, maya 4.5 fundamentals is coming out next week, but there are a few other maya books coming out as well, like Maya Savvy.

Which would you recommend?

I'm looking for a book that will cover many areas of Maya. I've played around with Maya PLE, but only done character rigging. I have videos and books on rigging, but I want to learn more on modeling, rendering, texturing procedures and tips in Maya.

Please help me decide :)

Thanks,
George

I realize that these books (maya 4.5 fundamentals and maya savvy) won't be out for another week and a half, so it makes it difficult to make an opinion on which one to get.

Maybe if we look at their authors' previous books.
I'm assuming that these new books are updated for maya 4.5. So maybe you can comment on these previous books' styles of teaching, content, etc...

Here's Maya fundamentals 4.0
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0735711895/qid=1041710085/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/002-1654279-3401608?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

and Mastering Maya, authors of Maya Savvy
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0782128351/qid=1041708220/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-1654279-3401608?v=glance&s=books

Basically looking for an intermediate book with a wide range of tuts on all areas of Maya

Thanks for the help,
George
