This is more of a fun project I started on in between classes in school.
I wanted to model an MG42 piece by piece.
So far I have the pistol grip, the bolt and Im working on the heat-shield of the barrel as you can see in some renders.
Good refference photos are hard to come by so its still not hugely detailed ;)

First of all, very nice work.
But I was wondering what you mean by Heatshield. Maybe my English is just that bad.
I like that weapon and I already had the opportunity to fire his grandchild the MG3.
Your detail is really beautiful.
Keep up the work.

P.S: Could you post some wires ?

It's like my dream to model a really, really detailed MG-42 but I've never dared start it cause it's too damn difficult ;/. And here you are modelling INTERNALS ;). Damn good job so far. I have a pretty big supply of pics of the MG42 by the way...
