Hey guys! Just a quick one! I'm using after effects to edit a scene and add music but when the final scene is rendered out the sound keeps jumping every second? Could anyone explain why this is happening? I've tried tampering with all the frequency settings before rendering but no luck. The file is an mp3 format sound file.

Thanks in advance

Tris

If you do a search for AE and mp3 files and you'll see the volume of posts...

With After Effects DO NOT USE mp3s! It doesn't handle them well-they may work but not always, its unpredictable.
Either convert your mp3 to .aiff or .wav or even better use the original uncompresed format.

Thanks

Edit: Never mind! Did a google search. Thanks again.

Get iTunes. It is free, easy to use and will convert just about any sound file to .Wav, .aiff or MP3. You can find the controls for setting this up properly under:

edit > preferences > advanced > Importing (sounds wierd I know). This is the import tab but it also controls output format as well. Set the "Import Using:" dialog to aiff or wav. Then right-click the audio track in iTunes and select "Convert selection to (your format here)." I believe it will automatically put the file in your iTunes library folder (usually in My Documents)

Good Luck
