Sorry I didn't read the rules properly, so here is my first attempt. I only came across this forum yesterday.

"MEG glides through the house, precisely following Hank’s
directions to the washroom. She passes through A WELL-APPOINTED
KITCHEN. MEG pauses to glance at A BOTTLE OF VINTAGE MERLOT
sitting unopened on the table. She smiles in anticipation and
continues through the moonlit expanse."

Done in Max8 and rendered with Brazil. No GI just a bunch of area lights and a couple of spots. A little touch up in PS to play with the levels and colour balance. No textures yet.

Welcome! Good start.

Some of your polygons look as if the smoothing groups are messed up, there is shading around the doorframe and the front of the cabinets that looks as if angles of 45 degrees or more are getting smoothed and creating that funny gradient you see on the front of the top cabinet doors for example.

The saturation of some of those colors changes their feeling. Super-strong blues like that look neon or electric, while toning it down just a little might feel more like moonlight. The tone you see through the window will matter alot to this as well.

You are right about the saturation, I think I went a little over board in PS. The smoothing will have to be addressed, it gives a cartoony feel to the surfaces.

Other than the electric/neon, what are your thoughts on the colour composision, does it work?

Thanks for a great forum
