I want to increase my shader knowledge- and I'm looking for downloads for nodes to be used in Mental Ray for Maya. With so much out there- I appreciate anyone who can offer advice on what they like. Here is some criteria I'm hoping you might grade your suggestions:
first, how industry revelant is it (do you see its use as being broad and therefore a handy node to be familiar with it)
Is it capable of working in a production environment (in other words- can I pass it off to a lighter or a renderer and not worry about breaking thier work)
Availability of documentation (I like experimenting- but I like instuction too)
I'm a big fan of pixero.com- as many posts mention. loving the JSnormal mapper and its obvious use. Hope we all can gain some new info.
