Hi everyone,
How can I find out the total number of vertices in a mesh in MEL?

Thanks!

Hey Dave,

Just select the poly object and use this, returns an integer

polyEvaluate -v;

or you can give it the object:

polyEvaluate -v pSphere1;

I'm suprised its so simple for MEL
haha

select your object and use:

polyEvaluate -vertex;

or use the -faces flag to get the facecount and so on.

Thanks guys,
I wrote a function that goes about it a backward way, so it's good to know the real way :)
