okay, here's my fair share of problems with max:

-only one viewports show my grid, and it's triggered on in 3 viewports
-I can't select anything no more in perspective mode
-I can't see my wireframe anymore in perspective mode
-When I rotate in perspective mode, it's like someones running with the camera (up-down, shaking)
-when I do a quick render from the perspective mode, the render isn't wrong(polygons intersectings each other and so on)

Maybe it's the vid card, i have a geforce 2 gts(softquadro-ed)
viewport drivers: same problem in Direct3d and OpenGl
Troubles began today, all of a sudden...

It's just because we have to learn and use max in school that i'm using it now, but could someone plz help me with these problems

You can try some solutions:

1. Reset 3dsmax configuration.
2. Reinstall your video drivers, maybe there's a new version already
3. Try 3dsmax with a diferent video setting (OpenGL if you're using Heidi)
4. Reinstall 3dsmax
5. Reinstall windows

Try to remember something you did that could've cause the problem like installing some utility, driver, etc...

thnx for the info, but already knew all that, but i was thinking there was a 'check this option' solution for my problems ;)

maybe it's also because of the high polycount, it's now at about 200.000 polygons, and my old vid card can't quite cope with that

check your scale settings.

i noticed in max 5 the scale gets all screwy, causing stuff like zooming in 5000 percent in one zoom, rotating wierdness, etc.

i read somewhere that discreet knows aobut htis and is putting it in the patch

try exporting oyur model and putting it in diff scales.

ps: i dotn know anything
