View Full Version : modeling whipped cream
rtomada 01-03-2003, 03:50 PM Damn, I´ve been trying almost the whole day to model some whipped cream on top of a glass of latte macchiato. Something like the following:

I gave the twist deformer a try but the result was not what I´ve expected.
Anyone any suggestions?
Gracie mille.

try the following method:
create a cappuccino, and before you drink it, make a photo from the top. then drink the whole thing :) this way you will stay awake as you do the rest :)
put this pic as an imageplane on the top view, then create a circle poly along the cream edge. then split the poly following the cream stripes. add some extra detail.
next step ... go to the top view, move the vertices alog the y (up) axis. then you got the base poly for the cream.
if you satisfied with the result, convert the poly to a smooth proxy, and refine it.
and here you go. a perfect whipped cream on your glass of latte macchiato!!
capisci?? :)

make about 5 to 6 nurbs circle, tweak their Cvs (last nurbs circle should be the size of the point fo rthe tip) and loft between them. delete history on the surface, add isoparms where needed and start refining the shape via hulls.
that s the only thing comming to mind right now.
