Hey everyone, I have been doing 3d for a long time, but have recently been inspired to try my hand at 2d painting. I started this for an art project in my digital montage class, and this is what I have after about 6 hours work over 2 days.
The basic Idea was to have a futuristic city that just defeated an invading alien force, and a somewhat typical "rejoicing" of the populace of their victory. The woman with the wings is supposed to be symbolic of their victory, though in the final i dont know if the wings will be subtle or if they will become more realistic "mechanical" wings.
Anywho, I did a previz in lightwave3d, which laid out the groundwork for the 2d paintover, which I started on with the bottom left. I dont know if there is a way I "should" be doing this, like Working back to front, or Blocking in all the paintover colors first or what, which is why I'm posting this WIP now so I can get some feedback on it.
