hello all, ive ran into this problem while working on my car render scene, i want to put some heat distortion coming from the hood of my car but i cant seem to be able to achive the right effect, does anyone know a good way to make the heat distortion?

here is a sample image of heat distortion if you dont know what im talking about...not a very good example but its the only one i could find. http://www.acig.org/artman/uploads/avro_heat.jpg

btw heres the rendering of the car, i want to put the heat distortion on the hood
