View Full Version : My trailer
Jonathan 01-03-2003, 01:08 PM Okay I'm ready to go under the gun of scrutiny. Here's my trailer to my short which will be finished this month (If my wife permits!) Uses Divx 5.02 codec. I know it's a bit rough around the edges but you'll get the picture.
Software used:
Lightwave 3D
Deep Paint 3D
Photoshop
Premier
Sound Forge
Gosh, I know I'm gonna regret this later but here goes.

Nice going! :applause: The flight scenes are definately a highlight! For me though the blend of celshading and 3d doesn't quite sit right, although you did say it was rough so maybe all it needs is a bit of spit and polish :D
Maybe if you have more time really sit down and nut out celshading. I did it recently and although it's frustrating and very hard to make look convincing, I think the results are worth it. I don't know if you just used Supercelshader here, but if so try experimenting with BESM and Unreal, they give you more control.
A technique I'm using at the moment is finding comics that have the colours I need, then taking the images into photoshop and taking the RGB values of the different shades and placing them in BESM.
Tell your wife if she lets you finish the short she'll make someone in Australia very happy!

Yep 1 man work
Hey I've been experimenting with that ureal shader. That puppy is amazing. I used super cel in this short but I'm so far along that I'm not even going to bother chaning it.
My goal was to retain the 3D look with an inked over 2D appeal. I get mixed responses with it.
That cel look you've got going in that link Fasty is awesome. I'm definitely trying to refine my look right now.
