Title: What if we could go to the center of the earth?

This is an illustration i made for a local children's magazine and the article was about "what if we could go to the center of the earth".
Since the article was intended for children to imagine how could the center of the earth be for them, I tryed not to illustrate a specific background on how I would see the center of the earth, but I created a starting point mood with the colors instead.
In this image i was trying to achieve a modern 40's kind of look with a bit strongher pastel colors. (think about animated cartoon's cels with a "painter" feel)
I used painter and a personal palette i made just for this kind of work.
