Hey guys, I got a 720x480 NTSC 4:3 footage that I need to convert to 720x480 16:9 aspect ratio. I tried a resize node where I set the rez to 720x480 and for aspect ratio i set to x:1.78 and y:1 . when rendered the clip using sonrrenson3 codec just to preview the comp, it rendered at 0.9 aspect ratio.

So could anybody tell me how to go about this please?

thanks for the help!

It is even easier than that. You need to go to the preferences for the flow. Select 'format' in the flow area and change it to 16:9. Mind you this will strech the image horizontally. Hope this was what you needed.

thanks for the reply! ur suggestion worked too and also a letter box node does it too. the weird thing is that quicktime plays the clips at 0.9 aspect ration.

thanks again!

Noted, that's a Mac thing as I recall. Don't hold me to this, but I remember years ago that Mac's don't have square pixels. I am be wrong but I remember that PC's and Mac's were different.
