View Full Version : strange polygonal bridging
jamesvalue 04-25-2006, 11:50 AM Hi guys!
I can't bridge some polys the way I want.
The bridging operation , always occours "bad twisted" no-matter a CW selection , or flipping some polys or merging them.
Only the twisting field set to 4 seem to solve somethng? , but I'm indeed looking for other solutions!
Thanks guys :)

Not much you can do...thats why the twist function was put in.
Hopefully 201 has fixed the algorithm.
Cheers.

I used the twisting option to bridge the 12 polygons correctly (as you said) and a 6 steps radial array to copy the spoke , in a perfect circle

Yes!
(since it is a polygonal tut!) Modo can easely reply everything , for rendering purposes ,however, better waiting V201 .
Modo's Fall-offs are very very handy to reach the tut shape .)

thanks james
but the thing is the tut's steps is by 3d max and i thought it is modo tut that can be easlly followed ...i am still wandering through modo ... :hmm:
but thank you anyway

You only need to know some Modo's tips .
For example the 3DSmax central cylinder , could be replaced by a Modo's capsule primitive
The external tube is nothing but a Modo cylinder whith 5sides and 2 insets made in the top face:)

Ops sorry guy! (I did'nt understood very well):)
About nice things to do : I need a nice renderer (like everyone else)
so since I love Modo I'm waiting for v201 :)
