View Full Version : How do I import MDD files into Lightwave
slatr 04-25-2006, 03:04 AM I can load the Messiah plug in and get it to sync with Lightwave. I want to learn next how to load MDD files in LW.
I am about to break out the old LW manuals, but if there is a web site for this please let me know. Google was not much help, kept pointing to Point Oven.
edit with low res T rex and md_plug I get this
T-rex no change no move

Tried with various other objects you can see it moving and changing

Update
I turned off subpatches on the T-Rex and opened in LW, the mdd works fine with both Messiah export and Point Oven Lite MDD files.
Turn back on subpatch no motion, tried to render , the rendered files show no animation
So.. I froze the T-rex and tried, but that destroys the mesh, but it does show movement.
What is the deal with subpatched items using MDD files?
Help me please

You have to play with the subdivision order of the object under geometry tab in object properties. It works when you set it to last.

Thanks so much Boris, that did the trick!
ALso, for others just learning like me, my frames per second did not match up in the Don's Dino_01 scene. LW was set to 30 while Messiah had the motion/scene set to 24 frames pe second. I just changed it to 24 in my LW preferences.
