Hi I’m having some trouble with the envelopes in the skin Modifier and need help please.

I’ve made a low polygon character, set up bones with IK constraints and now I’m trying to use the skin modifier.
Once it’s added it to the stack and I’ve added the bones all the envelopes aren’t very easy to manipulate.

The cross sections of the envelopes aren’t circles, they’re all ellipses instead which makes it very difficult to select which areas should be effected by that bone.

What I mean by this is that the envelopes for the bones are supposed to ( I think ) look like cylinders with circular crossestions, but the envelopes I get are really squashed cylinders where the cross sections are elliptical. How can I correct this? Can you rotate or scale these envelopes any way?

This sort of illustrates my point:

You must have Non-Uiform Scaled the meshes at some point.

Delete skin, go into the heirarchy panel and hit the "reset transform/ scale" button, then re-apply skin.

Cheers, I did scale it and I've now learnt not to ever scale bones using the scale tool!
