This is the concept sketch that we settled on after a few days of brainstorming and waiting for the muse to finally speak up.

And here we have the finished line art. From here we'll take it straight to color now that we're fully satisfied with the way it turned out in black and white.

Here we've got the driver gnome and the panda fully colored. Up next we'll take on the little gnome who's in charge of guiding our little party.

Here we've got both little gnomes fully colored on top of their trusty steed.

Now that we've finished the characters we're starting on the background. On this WIP we did the little totem figurines that litter the path towards the cave entrance.

After another afternoon full of colors we got all the pieces together in one cohesive whole.

This image depicts two young gnomish explores on their trusty mount who have, as their race tends to do, set out to rediscover secrets long forgotten throughout the ages.

This particular duo have decided to explore the depths of 'Hammerfall', a long deserted series of tunnels, mines and a lost settlemnt from the new continent, to make a name for themselves amongst the elder gnomes.

Very fun image Jerry...cheers me up to drop by and check it out...the faces of your gnomes are terrific. (A bit hard to decipher the expression on the panda at the moment but I'm sure you're working the way it fits into the background around it for the final...) Wonderful image. Best of luck!

Hey Eric, thanks for the positive feedback on the image and the two lil' fellas. I see your point on the panda although I didn't see it too clearly until I saw it printed. The problem I think came out of the fact that on the computer where the image was colored the eyes on the panda were large, black and in their own expresive. I think the monitor in which it is seen varies it as well.

I'm not sure if it can be changed now that it was uploaded as 'Final Image'. Guess that's part of the learning curve, heh. At least now I'll know to keep an eye out for those sort of details.

Laterz,
JerryOz
