hi modeling_man, it looks great on the concept side. can't wait to see the finished model. :)
the + orientation of the legs doesn't seem as stable as an x might've been...I have no basis for saying so, aside from a hunch I have *shrugs*
Looks really good tho, I'm not kidding.

Ya the models will be 400-700 polys :(
Its for a Warcraft engine style game so LOOOOOW POLY
I will make a higher poly though...just cause that wouldn't be fair to the drawing.
As for the legs:
I thought about making super mech looking feet, and perhaps swapping them with normal legs. I'm sure there will be variations given that I'll have to make a bunch of models. SO this one is just a start.
Thanks for the comments.

Yes, I also think that it would look much better with a different set of legs (cough cough: bipedal). That's just my opinion. The upper body is great!

I finally got around to posting this model. The links are at the top of the post with a link to view the model and watch a quick animation. I kept the 4 legged setup I liked it and think it works well for this model.
The newer ingame models will be 1500 polys, as you can view on my "AI Soldier" and the soon to follow AI Queen link below.
Sorry for the HUGE delay.

Nice looking model, I just wish the eyes didn't get cut in the final texture, that you had on your sketch...looks cool anyhow. The gun firing sequence is nice, also consider adding some secondary movement to the base of it. Even if the thing was like 1000 tons there would still be some rumble to the base from a canon that size :)

I added the wrong link on the animation and my connection went to shit so I couldn't edit the thread...the correct animation:) is at the top...or for you lazy bastards its right here.
