View Full Version : Area Lights falloff & range for windows?

Hi Lighting Experts,

for GI interior renders a common method is to use window sized area lights in addition to a luminant sky to light the scene.

I am wondering what kind of falloff (if any) and range (compared to window or room size) you use for these area lights to achieve a realistic look.

it's up to you, i generlaly use inverse square falloff or just inverse falloff, but you should just play around till you have something that looks good.

i dont use fall off personally. the 'ranges' option gives a far less harsh result. (i dont even use area shads too if i can avoid it)
