is it possible to have a deformer-object on more than one object?

the following situation: an animated face (the tomatoe i posted ages ago) is animated with pose-mixers for lipsyncing and facial-expressions (about 25 different poses) now i want the face slightly bend sidewards and/or up or downwards. not the entire tomatoe, only the front (face) part. i thought, it would be the easiest to animate this with deformer-objects which actually works quite well... just for one fact. the eyes and teeth stay in place as they are seperate objects.

so my question: is it possible to have these deformers working on more than one object? or does it mean, i have to track the possition of the teeth and eyes manually? (which would be hell asthe movie has about 3000 frames)

here is a pic of the problem..

to track the teeth wouldn't be too hard, i guess, but the eyes would probably be hell...

the same way you do bones on multiple shapes... just group the deformer with the objects in a null and it will affect everything in the group.

Hi Cosmicbear,

I have been struggling with the mesh of one of my characters - it has about the same proportions as yours. I've been trying to adapt different human-like mouths and eyes, but to no avail - it still looks rather expressionless.

I don't want to steal your idea's or make malicious use of your experience, but do you think it might be possible to post some wireframeshots of your tomato? Or perhaps point out what you used as reference?

Kind regards,
BaRa

hi brammelo,

i used a mirror and a webcam as reference. :) i recorded myself with the different poses (and no, i will not post these pictures!!!! :shame: :p :D ) and looked at them when modelling the different poses. i will post some pictures later today.
